NADCA vacuum test
NADCA - the National Air Duct Cleaners Association has developed a standard 1992-01 the Mechanical Cleaning of Non-Porous Air Conveyance System Components. The standard sets out to define the requirements and level of cleanliness for HVAC and duct cleaning projects.
The verification of cleanliness calls for two separate methods of inspection.
- Visual inspection
- NADCA Vacuum Test
The standard calls for the total removal of all visible contaminants. If contamination can be seen after the cleaning, then the cleanliness level is deemed to be unacceptable per NADCA 1992-01.
The NADCA Vacuum Test serves as an additional scientific method of determining cleanliness within a HVAC system. The Vacuum test physically determines the amount of debris within a given surface area of the HVAC system. This amount must be equal to or less than 1mg /100 cm2 after the cleaning work is completed.
