Negative air machine

Being a leading duct cleaning operation servicing the commercial environment in New Zealand, Clean Air Management developed the Negative Air Machine described below out of necessity. The use of a Negative Air Machine in multi-storey office buildings is virtually mandatory due to the need to provide proper protection to the client's premises and our own workers during the duct cleaning process.

Hence a Negative Air Machine must perform the following two main functions:

  • Keep the duct section being cleaned under a negative pressure in relation to the surrounding spaces to ensure that any dust or dirt dislodged in the cleaning process remains inside the duct for removal.
  • To ensure that there is always airflow away from the workers face when the machine is properly positioned in relation to the workers, thus minimising the exposure of the workers to the very fine dust that is a health hazard.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Negative Air Machine is not designed to suck great chunks of dirt off the duct surfaces and transport this back to the unit. It will however suck any airborne dust and dirt through the duct to the filters of the machine.

What features does the Clean Air Management Negative Air Machine have?

  • Dual size inlet to take either 250 or 300 flexible duct.
  • EU5 pleated pre-filters for protection of the HEPA filter.
  • HEPA filter with an efficiency of 99.99% at 0.3 micron. Includes simple, effective seal adjustment clamps to ensure zero air bypass.
  • Powerful in-line centrifugal fan with performance enhancing inlet cone.
  • Programmable variable speed-drive to operate the fan at different airflows and noise levels. This ensures maximum flexibility for the unit to operate with different sized duct systems to ensure that small flexible ducts are not subjected to excessive negative pressures.
  • Powder-coated, sign-written exterior casing with stainless steel handles and quality castors
  • Three section quick-clip construction for easy transport in small modules. Total weight is only 115 kg.
  • Modular construction facilitates easy access for HEPA filter integrity testing.
  • Compact sizing (1800 H x 850 L x 700 W) to enable access through doorways.
  • Operates off standard 240 V, 50 Hz, 10 A electrical supply.

The Clean Air Management Negative Air Machine is a proven design that has been operating extensively over the previous 10 years with our duct cleaning teams in many different environments.
