Olive Shoots Childcare Centre

The Olive Shoots Childcare Centre is purpose built to accommodate 50 children from ages three months to five years. Located on the Laidlaw College campus, the centre is a hub of fun, learning and quality care.

Systems

Several heat pumps were installed for the centre in various areas to combat summer temperatures particularly in the sleeping rooms and play areas. The first systems installed were two 3.5kw Daikin high wall inverters in the over 2s sleep room and office while a 7kw Daikin high wall inverter was installed to maintain pleasant temperatures year round in the main playroom. The over 2s playroom area was also installed with the larger 7kw Daikin high wall inverter heat pump.

The project

As a result of the noticeable levels of comfort and successful installation of the first two systems, the centre was keen to use more heat pumps in other areas of the building. The centre manager has been pleased with the comfortable temperatures now achievable throughout both summer and winter creating both a better work environment and healthier environment for the children.
